Cerita Kuliner G.B Bistro & Dessert @ Senayan City - nuraisya blog

A bright and beautiful day is a good start for any weekends, just like last week. Can't get more luckier, G.B Bistro & Dessert given me a chance to have a taste of their festive desserts for Christmas 2015. It all thanks to Indonesian Food Blogger (IDFB). So, here we are me and my friend at Senayan City agitate to try them along with some new exciting flavors coming in 2016.

Before going any further, let us learn a bit about G.B Bistro & Dessert first. Formerly known under the name Gelato Bar and founded in 2003 with it's first outlet at Darmawangsa Square. Gelato Bar Senayan City branch was then opened in 2008. Gelato Bar was founded based on the owner's love of food, desserts and the gastronomy world. Also to fill the niche when there were no restaurants or cafes that specialize in desserts at the time. Up till now the restaurant concept evolves to focus more on food and rebranding as G.B Bistro to get rid of the misconception that the restaurant only served desserts. Along with that, up till now G.B Bistro provided pasta, pizza, Asian and Indonesian food beside desserts.

G.B Bistro can hold quite plenty of customers with the front and back side of the restaurant. So people can come for a simple chit chat, hang out even for gathering here. The wooden furniture and brown color almost dominating the whole place, giving warmth feeling. I think enough about G.B Bistro for now, let us continue to the desserts part.

GELATO

What make gelato so special compare to ice cream? Gelato is freshly made of milk, sugar and natural ingredients such as chocolate, hazelnuts and fruits. So it contains only 5-7% of fat whilst ice cream has more than 20% fat. On the other hand for more healthier option you can choose sorbet with 0-1% fat, which also provided here. Sorbet also suitable for lactose intolerant who can't enjoy ice cream or gelato.

Salted Caramel
There are so many flavor of gelato at G.B Bistro, which I can't explain all of them here. All the basic like vanilla, chocolate and strawberry of course available. Green tea, the matcha taste is so thick definitely a must for matcha lover. Azuki or red bean, rum raisin, mascarpone, blueberry crumble, strawberry cheesecake. Not to mention the new "Zabaione with coffee variegato and salted crunchy caramelized nut", phewwww such a long name. Or my number one favorite which is Salted Caramel, I don't know how to describe it I just fell in love with it.

They all so tempting...
Milky Strawberry
Strawberry gelato, which mean made of fresh strawberries and milk. There's also strawberry sorbet available which I like more compare to the gelato, more fresh and little sour because no milk involved in the sorbet making.

Mango & Dragon Fruit Sorbet
If you read my gelato intro then you should know that sorbet contain less fat than gelato or ice cream. G.B Bistro kindly provide us with these options. On my visit there are three sorbet flavor available mango, dragon fruit and strawberry and they all tasty.

Espresso
Coffee and gelato mix in one, heaven... You don't like sweet this also your answer. One of my recommendation and favorite gelato.

Nutella
NUTELLA... Who don't like nutella? I mean come on any kind of meal with nutella in it almost certainly a success, including this one. Also my favorite.

Popcorn Caramels Gelato
Another favorite of mine also another new taste for the upcoming 2016. Soft and not too sweet gelato with crunchy popcorn.

Vanilla Tahiti with Pretzel & Chocolate Chunk
Vanilla gelato with plenty of topping, pretzel and chocolate chunk everywhere. This is nice for more crunchier feeling while eating gelato.

Chacarron Macarron Gelato
Well this one also in the new comer list for 2016, not quite sure with the taste. Just like eating sweet gelato with macaroon.

Mint Chocolate Chip & Avocado Coffee
Minty lover you gotta try this, gelato plus mint equal to cooling breeze add chocolate equal to delicious. While too bad for the avocado coffee though, I can't barely feel the avocado in it. Perhaps I'm putting too much expectation to avocado (one of my favorite flavor) or already confused after tasting other gelato's variant.

Panacotta & Gingerbread Gelato
These are another exciting flavors coming in 2016 beside Zabaione with Salted Caramel Nuts, Macaroon Gelato, Caramel Popcorn, Blueberry Butter Cookies and Avocado Coffee. For those with classic taste you should try Gingerbread Gelato, strangely I kinda fond with the taste.

FESTIVE DESSERTS

Every year, G.B Bistro presents special dessert collections for Christmas Celebration beside showcase a list of new gelato collections for the next year. There are two festive desserts for this year and here they are.

The friendly staffs always helping with smiles, including when this picture were taken
Cookie Santa Waffle
IDR 69.500
The first treat is warm waffles topped with one scoop of Pannacota Gelato, oreo cookies, fresh strawberries, whipped cream and chocolate sauce. This lovely dessert just like a treasure box, too many components within. But overall it's a sweet treat children would love.

Note: the cinnamon only for decoration
Merry Jingle Sundae
IDR 69.500
The second treat is two scoops of Gingerbread and Chocolate Gelato topped with chocolate brownies chunks, crunchy waffle cones, whipped cream and caramel sauce. It has a unique taste, but in an addictive way. The gingerbread gelato give a magical and classic touch paired well with the chocolate brownies. I personally love this more than the first treat.

Last but not least, to celebrate merrier and joyful christmas G.B Bistro gives Festives Seasons Promos during the month of December:
Buy 2 get 1 for every Gelato Purchase (from 28th November - 31st December 2015)
Buy 1 get 1 for every Gelato Purchase on Boxing Day (26th Defember 2015)

Those promos sure does tempting and also will end my review this time. Don't forget to drop by to G.B Bistro and see you later ^.^

Cerita Kuliner LUC Bar & Grill @ Kebayoran Baru - nuraisya blog

It's been a long time since rain pouring down our beloved city, Jakarta. Right on the day I'm going to attend OpenSnap's event, rain suddenly fell out of nowhere. I'm not blaming rain as my excuse for coming a bit late that day, despite it really is the cause. Many of the participants also late because of it, luckily the event went well. The colaboration event between OpenSnap and IDFB (Indonesian Food Blogger) took place at LUC Bar & Grill that located at Wolter Monginsidi, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta not far from the famous Santa Market. Honestly I'm not too familiar with this area, but lucky I checked the exact location first before going here through OpenSnap app. So here I am, a bit wet and excited to meet and greet with OpenSnap's delegation, many foodies and of course to grab a bite at LUC Bar & Grill.

I took the picture when we're going home, where the weather was nice and warm again.
Inspirational quotes...
Cozy place to chit chat with your friends
The most eye catching decoration for me at LUC
The bartenders in action, yup they serve licquor
MC from OpenSnap gave an opening and welcoming speech
After filling the registration form, time to choose what to order. Beside the provided menu, there's also one special newcomer food for group photo competition with cash prize from OpenSnap. What are they? Scroll down to find out...

My food card with my picks, hopefully they're tasty since I'm hungry

FOOD

Risotto Sausage
IDR 115.000
Risotto rice, green peas, sweet corn, parsley, parmesan, black pepper with slices of sausage on top of it. I love the combination of risotto with the sausage, it complement the whole taste of this dish.

Fettuccine Salmon E Gamberi
IDR  95.000
Another pasta from the listed menu, fettuccine with smoked salmon cooked with cream sauce and slices of garlic bread.

Mac & Cheese Original
IDR 85.000
Elbow macaroni cooked with milk, butter, cheddar, mozzarella, parmesan. So cheesy in a positive way, if you're a cheese fan this can't be a miss.

Bistecca Con Salsa Funghi
And here is the main star for this event, new menu from LUC Bar & Grill. Grilled beef steak with mashed potato and mushroom sauce poured on top. Since we must take picture of the dish in group to compete in photo competition by OpenSnap that afternoon, we're start tasting it after it went a bit cold but the steak still juicy and tender so it's a plus. But too bad the overall taste of this dish a bit too salty for me, perhaps it's just me though.

MOCKTAIL

Splash Dream
IDR 39.000
This red colored drink a combination of orange, lychee, passion fruit, lime, watermelon. Refreshment from the lime and orange, while the rest to add mild sweetness to this drink.

Green Eyes
 IDR 39.000
Fresh kiwi, apple, and pomegranate with honeydew to neutralized the sour caused from other fruits in the mix.

DESSERT

Pannacota
IDR 59.000
Vanilla cream pudding with strawberry sauce on top, at first I find the sauce is super sour but along the way they're becoming the perfect pair in my mouth. The pudding balance the sauce and vice versa, resulting a tasty dessert despite the simple look.

Apple Strudle
IDR 69.000
Okay, I manage to grab a bite of this one from my friend's order. The look is promising too bad, a little too rich on the filling for me at least. The apple sank from the other components like raisins and cinnamon. But hey, I could be wrong in this since I'm judging from a single bite.

Big family photo with IDFB and OpenSnap Members
Last but not least, thank you OpenSnap and IDFB for the invitation and the event. It's been so much fun to meet with old friends and a lot of new foodies too. And thank you for LUC Bar & Grill too for being a host for the event, I know it's hard to keep patient with a lot of foodies roaming around from table to table. Big thanks for you all, hope we can meet again some other times. Bye for now ^.^

Cerita Kuliner Pempek-Pempek Aloy 45 @ Tomang - nuraisya blog

Hello again, this time we're going to a small place with great food not far from my home. Located at Tomang Utara not far from Alfa Midi. It called Pempek-Pempek Aloy 45, hadn't notice what's it called before often come here purely just to enjoy the food. Here they're selling pempek and es campur. Open daily at daytime and last only for a few hours or sooner depend on the stocks. Eventhough the place is quite small but always full of visitors.

Enough with the chit chat, let me take you all to a small tour of what you can try and enjoy at Pempek Aloy.

Pempek Kapal Selam
IDR 15.000 / piece
Actually there are two kind of pempek here, Kapal Selam and Lenjer. But Lenjer already sold out right in front of my eyes to the previous customer. You can choose to served as it is or to be fried first. Eat them with the common brownish vinegar sauce for pempek or you can switch with two other kind of sauces provided, sweet sour sauce and tauco sauce which of course they all basically spicy.

Adaan / Baso Goreng
IDR 5.000 / piece
Fried fish ball, so moist and delicious especially when you eat them with the spicy sweet sour sauce. According to the owner it always freshly made from lot of limes. That's what made this sauce so special and tasty, my favorite among the other sauces. You can also choose between regular or hot spicy for this sauce.

Pempek Talas / Uyan
IDR 3.000 / piece
Despite the look this small pempek from taro as the basic ingredients also taste good, in fact they all tasty ^-^ If you like crispy pempek this should be the answer.

Pempek Kulit / Empiang
IDR 3.000
The most chewy from other types of pempek. My mom's favorite, cut into small pieces dip in the sweet sour sauce... Nomnomnom...

Es Campur Biasa
IDR 12.000
Add IDR 8.000 only to get Es Campur Special Duren. My thirst quencer during hot days, really yummy too. Traditional taste of shaved ice, red beans, mung beans, grass jelly, and fermented cassava poured with syrup, just like the old days... Oops. I always buy this each time I visit this stall. And this tasty dessert also end my review this time. See you later ^.^

Cerita Kuliner Publik Markette @ Grand Indonesia Mall - nuraisya blog

Hallo, it's been quite a while since the last resto review. Yes yes I've been laid back lately. But now I'm back with Publik Markette from Ismaya Group which located at Ground Floor East Mall of Grand Indonesia Mall passing through Central Department Store. The concept "Food Gallery" perhaps a little odd for me at first. Not like other restaurants the waiter will give you a menu to choose then wait for your orders. Here at Publik Markette, the waiter will give you only the drinks menu from D'Journal (did I hear cry of joy from coffee fans back there?). While waiting for the drinks to come you can grab your table number stick and bring it to the food counter where you can see and choose the food directly complete with the chef's explanation about them. After you choose wisely what to eat you can show your stick or just mention your table number to the chef, so the waiter can deliver your food as soon as they ready.

Publik Markette's Operational Hours
Smile there's cocktails :)
Waiting for my orders, which is quite fast
At a glance just like American diners
A bit clue for the place before going to the menu. I like the atmosphere here, it's a cool place to hangout for chat and a romantic place to date also. Moreover the friendly waiter who always standby around. And now let's eat ehm... head to the food tasting. There's no picture of a big feast with load of food on the table since I order then one at a time to maintain the freshness and avoid mix of tasting. Here they are...

Tomato Salami
IDR 45.000
Four slices pizza with salami and cheese on top, as tasty as it looks. Come in adequate portion to enjoy alone or together with your friends.

Mixed Pasta Bolognaise
IDR 55.000
This one is so good, penne pasta with bolognaise sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. Definitely my favorite, curious to try these menu on my kitchen someday.

Crushed Potatoes
IDR 25.000
And this is the most affordable price among the other menus, if you low on budget but want something tasty but still heavy for your meal then this is it.

Bitter Sweet Love
IDR 55.000
Dessert... After a moment of doubt I finally chose this dark chocolate based dessert. Just like the name it's a mix between bitter from dark chocolate yet still sweet enough to get your tongue to dance.

Tropical Sunrise
IDR 38.000
One of the healthy juices, the combination of greens, pineapple, cucumber, lemon and honeydew. I know it's hard to get rid of the strange feel and smell of greens in any drinks no matter what you do. So I guess this one is quite success since I still able to drink it with joy.

Mango Blush
IDR 45.000
From the Power Smoothies family we got Mango Blush, the combination of mango, passion fruit and bananas. This one is definitely good, you must try it yourself to prove my word.

*All the prices above are subject to service charge and government tax 21%

Overall I enjoy my visit here, but then again I always think if I'm going out of a restaurant with a full tummy and feeling happy then it's a good restaurant and encourage me to visit again some other time. Especially Publik Markette, from what I heard they prepare different menu from day to day. Feel free to come and try at anytime. Bye for now, until my next review ^.^
