Cerita Kuliner SUMOBOO! @ Mal Central Park - nuraisya blog

Today I will bring good news with me, a new Sumo Boo! just open. Now we can enjoy these yummy and delicious treats at Mal Central Park, pretty convenient for those who like to shop here. The new outlet located at 3rd floor next to Ikkudo Ichi accross Gramedia book store, it's hard to be missed. On my first visit here the decoration's not perfectly finished, but Sumo Boo!'s style with the round bulbs and leaves, woods, green and yellow colors already on. Probably not as fancy as it's predecessor at PIK, but the design still thick with Japanese cuteness.

Cute drawing of the famous menus
Okay, let's move on to the menus I've tried there. From the main dish 'till the super deadly delicious desserts.

Buta Naked Ramen
IDR 38.000
Naked Ramen, spicy noodle with various level of spiciness, I usually choose level 5 or 10. The numbers may scare you at first but relax level five here actually means level 1 and ten means level 2, yup all the levels multiplied by five. The noodle is a bit different from ordinary noodle that always come with broth, this one a bit dry with a sunny side up, nori slices, any topping you like (the picture above is buta or pork, non halal) and a piece of lime to squeeze on top. Many opinions come for the taste, some of them think the taste a bit strange. But for me, it taste just great with it's own way and always eat it to the bottom.

Unagi Donburi
IDR 58.000
Donburi, steamed rice with a sunny side up, nori slices and topping eel cooked with soy sauce. Pretty similar combination like the ramen only noodle replaced with steamed rice. The eel taste great, mild and juicy.

Tori Popcorn Naked Ramen
IDR 38.000
Another version of naked ramen, this one with tori popcorn as the topping. Small chicken chunks fried with seasoning and dough.

Spam Donburi
IDR 35.000
And this one is another version of donburi, the topping called spam. What is spam? That is the first question we asked to the waiter. Spam made from sausage slices that grilled with minced meat (non halal) on top of them, suitable for those who like stronger taste.

Black Milk Tea
IDR 18.000

Peach Juice Yakult
IDR 21.000

Hot Nutella
IDR 29.000
From all three drinks we tried, I recommend Hot Nutella of course since I'm a big fan but then again they all tasty.

Kakigori 5: Nutella Bomb + Chocolate Mountain + Sliced Almond
IDR 40.000
Finally to dessert, my favorite part since Sumo Boo! obviously famous for the desserts. The first one is Kakigori, or so we called it shaved ice. The combination for Kakigori 5 as described above, here you can try their famous nutella bomb, a mochi with nutella explosive inside that always freshly made every couple hours to keep the taste as good as it gets.

Mixed Pudding + sliced almond
IDR 23.000
Elderly's favorite, since they're soft not so sweet and of course delicious. This one is the most simple combination of pudding, various flavored pudding with sliced almond and a cup of milk sauce.

Sumoboo Dessert 5: Bomb Ball + Big Boba + Mochi + Ice Cream + Red Bean + Pudding + Taro
IDR 35.000
Onto my favorite dessert above all desserts at Sumo Boo! Just remember this combination, Sumoboo Dessert 5, you won't regret it. I love every parts of them, the soft ice cream (default green tea, you can change when ordering), mixed pudding, bomb ball, big boba, mochi, taro and red bean forming a perfect flavor combination in my mouth. A must try!

For the ice cream, beside the default Green Tea flavor you can choose Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry or Red Bean
*All the prices above are subject to 10% tax and 3% service charge

And then there were none...
Our stomach are full, the bowls all empty now is time to wrap up my review this time. Like I always mention, the review are all made on my personal taste. So you should go and try for yourself to find your own favorite that should be a bit difficult since they all great. Bye for now ...

Cerita Kuliner Ohka Ramen @ PIK - nuraisya blog

This time I will take you to another eating point at PIK, a Japanese restaurant Ohka Ramen. Ohka means Sakura or cherry blossom, while ramen like you all know means noodle in Japanese. That facts conclude our specialities here, Japanese noodles. Before going to the food review let me take you around the restaurant a bit.

Beautiful lanterns at the backyard seat
Front view of Ohka Ramen
From the moment you took the steps to the door there's a waiter that greed and opening the door for you and showing where you would like to sit. You can easily notice Japanese atmosphere really thick here, even during Christmas theme during my last visit there. You can choose to sit inside for more cool air or at the front porch nor backyard for more fresh air. But for busy hour, seats are due to availability.

Washi, one of the famous paper crafting arts in Japan
Sake anyone?
A glimpse of the open kitchen, there's also seats for you who want to watch the whole cooking process while eating.
Indoor seats
Seasonings and sauces always ready to add personal flavor to your meal
Front porch seats
Backyard seats
I think that's enough for introduction, I will take you to know more about Ohka Ramen which is their food. Here we go...

Edamame
IDR 18.000
For a starter or more precise your best friend while waiting your orders to be prepared, totally worth the price.

Karaage Spicy Miso Ramen
IDR 56.000
Ramen with spicy miso broth, corns, mushroom, hard boiled egg and fried chicken strips (karaage). The taste probably a bit mild for me, since they called it spicy I expected more than this. But the karaage manage to fix things up.

Karaage Miso Ramen
IDR 56.000
Ramen with miso broth, corns, mushroom, hard boiled egg and fried chicken strips (karaage).

Karaage Miso Tsukemen
IDR 56.000
Ramen with corns, mushroom, hard boiled egg, fried chicken strips (karaage) and separated thick miso broth to dip the ramen. That's right, the proper way to eat tsukemen is to dip the ramen a moment before you put them in your mouth, not by pouring and mix them together. From all the miso ramen we try, this is my favorite so far. A must try!

Gindara Teriyaki
IDR 65.000
Next is this juicy gindara that comes with spaghetti and mix salad. They all tasty and completing each other.

Chicken Katsu Curry
IDR 68.000
My favorite! I mean who doesn't like curry rice? This one is no exception either, the taste is perfect for both the crispy chicken katsu and the thick curry.

Chicken Katsuni Don & NikuUdon (Mini- Mini Set)
IDR 80.000
Just like their name, they all come in mini bowls: a bowl of Niku Udon (beef udon), a bowl of Chicken Katsuni Don (rice with vegetables, chicken katsu and scramble egg on top), pickles and side dishes.

Mochi Ice Cream
IDR 18.000 / piece
Finally it's time for these delicious mochis. Come with many flavor: cheesecake, chocolate, strawberry, tiramisu, vanilla, matcha and cookies & cream (clockwise start from the upper left mochi). I love all of them, but if I must pick I'll go with cookies & cream for the first place and vanilla as the runner up. A must must try at Ohka Ramen!

Okay the colorful mochis will end up my review this time, don't forget to visit Ohka Ramen at the address below to try their various menus. Bye and see you again on my next post ^.^

Cerita Kuliner La Crêperie @ PIK - nuraisya blog

Please do forgive me first for the latepost, a lot had happened at the end of 2014. From my vacation to Garut and Bandung, hearing the sad news that my dearest uncle passed away and I need to fly to Medan for his funeral and so on. So here I am writing with excuses (bad habit Novi...), anyway let me continue with the review. I will take you to La Crêperie, a small French restaurant located at PIK that famous for the crepes and ciders.

The restaurant itself consists of outdoor and indoor seats, when it come to Jakarta especially PIK's dry and hot weather I prefer to sit inside. Love all the murals done here, really make you feel as if you're in the middle city of Paris sipping and enjoying your drink while chatting with your friends.

Inner part of the resto, forgive me for not taking the picture for the outdoor part
Not prolong it any longer, let's start our feast. Probably many of you are confused when reading the menu since a lot of them came in French like Galette, Poulet and many more that immediately bring back funny moments when me and my friends ordering food in Paris couple years before. Lucky here you have the waiter who can translate and explain them when you ordering. And here are some of them...

Hungry people can't wait
Breakfast Galette
IDR 59.000
One of savoury crêperies, this one consists of the galette (buckwheat pancake), mixed salad, egg, chicken and boiled spinach. A healthy breakfast I say.

Tiramisu Flambé Crepe
IDR 55.000
Another from crêperies collection, just like its name this sweet crepe along with the tiramisu ice cream on top cooked with flambé technique. As soon as it served, liquor poured on it to create flame that's why it called flambé which mean flamed in French. Quite an attraction to watch and tasty too, a must try!

Poulet Aglio
IDR 86.000
Poulet or chicken in French combined with aglio olio pasta, what can be more perfect than this. First aglio olio always been my favorite, next the chicken, diced potatoes, broccolis cooked and blended well. My pick main course!

Peanut Butter Burger
IDR 56.500
If you're looking for something different you should try this dish. The burger came with beef patty and bacons poured with peanut butter, maybe odd at first bite but you'll back for more and more bites just like I did. Served together with french fries and mixed salad.

Cheese French Fries
IDR 59.000
Perfect snack to forget about my diet, too good to resist. French fries with melted cheese, bacon slices and a sunny side up on top of it. Totally my pick!

Croquette
IDR 36.000
Another good snacking, croquettes with melted cheese filling and a dip sauce. I looove these small round balls. Too bad we have to shared, one sure is not enough.

Calamari served with tartar sauce
IDR 39.000
There's nothing to describe more about this, just like the name it's calamari accompanied with tartar sauce.

Our Welcome Drink

Strawerry Mojito
IDR 30.500

La Creperie's Punch
IDR 31.500
My choice of drink that day. One of the thirst quenchers collection, perfect sweetness a total refreshment.

Blue & Red Mojito
IDR 30.500

Nutella Frappe
IDR 43.000
This one is a must try, as far as I know no one can't resist nutella's charm. As a chocolate and nutella's fan this taste heaven!

Hot Dutch Chocolate
IDR 32.000

Elderflower Flute (900 ml)
IDR 115.000 / bottle (up to 10 cups)
As I mention before another speciality here is the cider. Served in a big flute bottle, you can see the serving steps at the picture above (clockwise from upper left), refreshing both came from the cider and the fresh fruits. For whose on a diet, drinking this after a big meal is a good option to burn the fat.

My favorite mural "Alley Cat", did I just name it? No, there's no specific title to that actually.
The silent witness for our feast that day.
Okay, that's all I can share about La Crêperie. Overall it's a good place to hangout with good food and a lot choices of drinks. So, don't hesitate to come and try your own experiences here. See you soon ^.^
